play & practice in the icefall
May 3, 2004 07: 57 EST
dr denise and friends are back in camp, so today i took a break from the clinic to do a little ice cliimbing with lincoln and lakpa as my guides. it was a clear day with light breeze, so we had perfect conditions and the climbing on a practice hillary step course was spectacular (thanks willie benegas and mark tucker for setting up the fixed rope.) we were joined by the adventure consultants guides and team and an otherwise scary rappel was big fun for me knowing luis benitez had my belay.
we did a little meandering through some amazing ice spires and frozen sculptures - photo of lincoln examining the inside of a beautiful crevasse. what a day!
