Our life at base camp this season has been made so much easier thanks to a couple of kind sponsors. Firstly we would like to thank Andrew Dunin for his generous donation which covered the cost of a brand new iCOM base station and hand-held radios. And thanks to Scott Darsney who contributed the equipment for the antennae to transmit our messages. This equipment allows us to keep daily contact with the climbing teams who are on the mountain, and troubleshoot problems from here at base camp. This radio contact is invaluable to the clinic and the health of the climbers.
Secondly, Ola and Suzanne would personally like to thank Sonam Sherpa, who owns Everest Hardwear clothing for his thoughtful gift of two expedition down jackets. These have made a huge difference to our level of comfort on the icefall and for this we are are sincerely grateful.
