International Mountain and Wilderness Medicine World Congress

On October 3-7, The Mountain & Wilderness Medicine World Congress 2007 will bring together for the first time the Wilderness Medical Society (WMS) and the International Society for Mountain Medicine (ISMM) for a joint congress in Aviemore Scotland.
This meeting is a landmark event for both of these prominent international organisations, being the first time that the United Kingdom has hosted this most prestigious event of worldwide significance for either society.
The program includes the best of the best -- leaders in the international mountain and wilderness medicine scientific communities delivering cutting edge talks on everything from latest treatment strategies for frostbite to controversies in commercial climbing.
Special evening talks include "Trouble at high altitude" by the renowned and accomplished UK climber Stephen Venables, "Great Scots who opened Canada" - by Bruce Paton, and the first scientific review of the Caudwell Xtreme Everest Expedition 2007 by Mike Grocott.
